Locked in our dorms during the pandemic, two bored engineers built an outdoor puzzle adventure to entertain classmates. What started as a fun project quickly became The Great Game, a mobile app that transformed Stanford’s campus into an interactive adventure. Hundreds of students joined in, exploring, solving puzzles, and competing to climb the leaderboard.
Soon, the Stanford Football Team and universities nationwide asked for custom versions. Orientation programs embraced it, with thousands of players and incredible completion rates. What began as a dorm-room experiment quickly grew into something much bigger.

Now, with over 500,000 players and a small but mighty team (plus a very lazy Goldendoodle), we continue creating adventures that inspire connection and fun. This journey has been its own great game, and we’re just getting started.
